This case arose from a 2005 injury involving a British citizen who was injured while traveling to America. The plaintiff, a minor, suffered major life altering injuries which have left her in a persistent vegetative state. Her American medical bills were paid under a travel insurance contract by a company based in London, England. The insurance carrier asserted a claim in the amount of $289,430.89 and was demanding full repayment. The case was referred to Synergy Lien Resolution Services and in less than a month Synergy had obtained a complete waive from the insurance carrier. This allowed the plaintiff attorney to settle the case that had languished for months, and allowed the family who had returned to the U.K. to begin receiving medical treatment under England’s national medical program.
