Director of Business Development

P: 415.755.5318

Carol Jinks is a Director of Business Development for Synergy Settlement Services. She is based in the Pacific Northwest, calling Fox Island, WA home. In this role, Carol partners with trial attorneys and their plaintiff clients on the critical and complicated issues that arise during settlements, including healthcare lien resolution, Medicare Set-Asides, structured settlements, special needs trusts and attorney fee deferral programs.

Carol grew up in Louisiana (the Bayou State) and graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Minor in Kinesiology. Carol’s legal career began in Atlanta, GA over 17 years ago when she joined Martindale-Lexis Nexis. Carol eventually joined Thomson Reuters and relocated to Portland, OR and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. Carol has served many roles throughout her legal career and is often thought of among her peers as a trusted advisor.  Her experience expands to most US markets with a deep knowledge of law firm business development. Carol is excited to use her legal experiences and passion to resolve the issues surrounding settlements to benefit injury attorneys and their clients. Carol takes pride in customizing solutions to the needs of each individual situation, maximizing the reward to the injured party and building relationships with law firms.

In Carol’s spare time she serves as the President of the Board of Trustees for Beckett Point Fishermen’s Club. This is a waterfront, non-profit corporation established in 1939 on the beautiful Puget Sound. Carol’s family enjoys many weekend trips to enjoy whale watching, seeing eagles soar, afternoon kayak trips and nighttime beach fires. This quaint little place has introduced Carol’s family to many lifetime experiences of nature similar to her days growing up in Louisiana.  Commitment, relationships and ethical values are what matters most to Carol.

“Synergy is our guiding light for deferring our contingent legal fees and planning for retirement. The lawyers at Panter Panter & Sampedro, myself included, have been working with them for over ten years using different methods to defer comp and plan for retirement.”

"I don't think I've directly said "thank you" for helping us with Bridgett’s case. We sent the reduced payment to Medicaid and called Bridgett's mom to tell her approximately how much money was going to be left for Bridgett and she broke down over the telephone. Given only $25k of insurance and a $850k medical bill from the hospital she didn't think Bridgett would ever see a penny."
