Anna Winger is a settlement planner with Synergy, providing services to trial attorneys and their clients in the Carolina’s. Her experience as an estate and financial planner provides a solid foundation when developing solutions for attorneys and plaintiffs involving structured settlements, government benefit preservation, special needs planning, lien resolution, and Medicare set aside issues.
Anna is a partner at Bone, Winger, and Simmons, PLLC, with offices in Gastonia, Hickory, and Boone, NC. Anna’s law practice focuses on estate planning, elder law, special needs planning, probate and business law. She entered the practice of law because she enjoys meeting people, learning about their families and businesses, and developing comprehensive estate and financial solutions to protect their families.
Anna often sees clients during difficult times and makes a point to listen, ask questions and let them know that their voice, needs, goals, and desires are being heard. She is energized by doing work that makes a positive difference in the quality of her clients’ lives and their ability to successfully move through difficult transitions. Serving as a settlement planner with Synergy is a natural extension of Anna’s client-centered practice model. This role allows her to bring depth and added value to transactions that, if designed well, provide maximum financial security well into the future.
Anna is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and a concentration in finance. She received her law degree from Vermont Law School where she worked for their legal clinic helping indigent clients with a wide variety of issues that included both civil and criminal matters.
She is a member of the Catawba and Watauga County Bar Associations; the Estate Planning & Fiduciary Law Section of the North Carolina State Bar Association; WealthCounsel; and ElderCounsel. Further, Anna is the Co-Editor of the 2018 North Carolina Estate Administration Manual. Her pro bono practice includes preparation of wills and powers of attorney for low-income clients through Legal Aid of North Carolina.
Anna is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Montana, and is a Certified Financial Planning® professional. She lives in Boone with her husband, John, their three lively children, and their Border Collie mix, Archie. In her free time Anna enjoys spending time with her family at their farm in Caldwell County, gardening, traveling, and hearing live music of any style (especially when her kids are playing it).
