Lazarus, Esq, said, “Steve and Jeff have built a very successful settlement planning practice in the Twin Cities because of their expertise and unique approach to serving trial attorneys as well as injury victims. Their values are aligned with Synergy and a strong match for our corporate culture.”

About Steve Harris

Steve Harris is a settlement planner for Synergy. He is a passionate champion of plaintiff-only settlement planning, and a successful investor. In 1993 Steve was in an auto accident that took several years of intense rehabilitation to get back to his pre-injury physical health. During this time, Steve decided to make helping injured people his chosen career and went on to obtain his insurance and securities licenses. For the past 13 years, Steve and long-time plaintiff’s attorney Jeff Smith ran PSSG, a successful structured settlements agency that focused on putting solutions in place that are guaranteed, tailored for their specific needs, allow for liquidity and flexibility when needed, and protect means-tested benefits where appropriate.

Steve is an alum of both the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota, having majored in Political Science and Math.

About Jeff Smith, Esq

Jeff Smith is a settlement planner with Synergy, providing comprehensive settlement planning services exclusively to plaintiff attorneys and their clients. For 26 years, Jeff was a partner and manager in a St. Paul law firm representing clients with a variety of injuries and circumstances. This extensive experience gives him an excellent understanding of the strategies, concerns, and issues that injury victims and their attorneys face. In 2006, Jeff founded PSSG, a structured settlements agency, with partner Steve Harris.

Jeff graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Gustavus Adolphus College, majoring in business and economics. He went on to graduate cum laude from Hamline University School of Law. While practicing law, he achieved an AV Preeminent Rating with Martindale-Hubbell, a recognition of strong legal ability and high ethical standards.

TESTIMONIALS

“Synergy is our guiding light for deferring our contingent legal fees and planning for retirement. The lawyers at Panter Panter & Sampedro, myself included, have been working with them for over ten years using different methods to defer comp and plan for retirement.”

"I don't think I've directly said "thank you" for helping us with Bridgett’s case. We sent the reduced payment to Medicaid and called Bridgett's mom to tell her approximately how much money was going to be left for Bridgett and she broke down over the telephone. Given only $25k of insurance and a $850k medical bill from the hospital she didn't think Bridgett would ever see a penny."
